The Board of the Chihuahua Club of America, at the request of the CCA Rescue Chair and the Chihuahua Club of Greater Phoenix, has authorized funds to be sent to Arizona Chihuahua Rescue in support of their efforts. However, these funds will only go so far. The Board urges all lovers of the Breed to donate generously to this rescue effort.

THE TUCSON 800

In March, a raid was conducted on a triple wide trailer in Tucson, AZ. The authorities were stunned to find over 800 animals inside the trailer. Most were Chihuahuas. The Humane Society of Southern Arizona took them all in, and served as the lead organization in the process of helping the animals. Many Chihuahua folks have stepped up to help. The Arizona Chihuahua Rescue in Mesa, AZ, took in over 100. The numbers increased almost immediately, as some pregnant females gave birth. This organization is a small one, and operates on a foster home network basis. The Chihuahua Club of Greater Phoenix has designated this group as their rescue organization, and is in the process of helping out as well. Such a huge influx of animals in need of a lot of medical work--such as dentals, spay/neuter, etc.--is a financial burden on any group. As soon as we learned of this, the Chihuahua Club of America Rescue Chair requested that CCA donate funds to this rescue group. Unfortunately, it’s not nearly enough to totally take care of things, so we are sharing ways to find out more about the dogs, and how individuals can donate directly to the effort.

Go to http://www.AZchihuahuarescue.org
and read about the Chihuahua rescue effort (there’s a link called The Tucson 800),
and click on their Paypal link to donate immediately.

Or, send your check to:
AZCR
P.O. Box 52713
Mesa, AZ 85208

Or you can deposit the money directly in the group’s account at Chase
Bank. There’s a branch or two in most cities. Here’s the information.
